Susan LeBron is a Graduate Counseling Intern pursuing her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Jacksonville University, with an anticipated graduation in May 2027.
She brings more than three decades of experience helping individuals, families, and organizations strengthen communication, navigate life transitions, and build healthier relationships. As a corporate trainer, workshop facilitator, educator, and author, one theme has remained constant throughout her career: empowering people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to live more intentional and fulfilling lives.
As the author of No Fig Leaves Allowed! Getting Emotionally Naked, Susan believes meaningful growth begins with honest, open communication and authenticity, with ourselves and with others. Her experiences as a military spouse for 26 years and mother of six have given her a deep appreciation for resilience, healthy relationships, and the unique strengths and challenges faced by military members, veterans, and their families.
Susan believes counseling should be both supportive and productive. She creates a warm, collaborative environment where clients feel genuinely heard, respected, and encouraged. At the same time, she believes real growth requires honesty, curiosity, and a willingness to examine what may be getting in the way. She will ask thoughtful questions, gently challenge unhelpful patterns, or encourage clients beyond their comfort zones when doing so supports the goals they have set for themselves. She believes insight is most valuable when it leads to meaningful action.
Her approach is grounded in Person-Centered Therapy and integrates evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while drawing from attachment-informed and existential perspectives to meet each client’s unique needs. She is also passionate about prevention and resilience, believing counseling should not only help people heal from life’s challenges but also equip them with the skills to strengthen relationships, navigate future obstacles with confidence, and thrive long before a crisis occurs.
Susan is committed to providing ethical, evidence-based care and considers it an honor to walk alongside her clients as they journey a path of hope, insight, resilience, and authentic personal growth
